E1: Building a Mobile Bar, One Beer Pour at a Time
"We’re just building a vessel to move beer from a keg into a glass — but as humans, we have to complicate it and make it look pretty," the Coldbreak crew jokes, while mapping out their first trailer build.
The Coldbreak crew has a new project — turning a two-stall horse trailer into a mobile bar before a hard deadline: Kayla’s wedding on May 20th. In this first episode of their Mobile Bar Build mini-series, they lay out their approach, debate design options, and share the thought process behind keeping the build simple.
Rather than overloading the space with permanent fixtures, the team is prioritizing functionality, adaptability, and draft beer perfection. They discuss the pros and cons of tap walls, the flexibility of jockey boxes, and how to avoid the all-too-common pitfalls that lead to foamy pours.
With years of draft system experience, Coldbreak is coming at this build from the perspective of beer service first — knowing that a flawless pour can make or break a mobile bar’s reputation. They also touch on equipment decisions, trailer condition, and how their past experiences (including fixing incomplete builds for other owners) are shaping this project.
This episode sets the stage for a behind-the-scenes look at the build process — from cutting the first window to making those final aesthetic touches.
