Daiquiri, Hemingway

Also known as the "Papa Doble," this is a classic cocktail that blends the robust flavors of rum with the tartness of citrus and a hint of cherry from maraschino liqueur. This drink was crafted to suit Ernest Hemingway's preference for less sweetness and more potency.

White Rum: 1 gallon (128 oz)

Grapefruit Juice: 32 oz (4 cups)

Lime Juice: 48 oz (6 cups)

Maraschino Liqueur: 32 oz (4 cups)

Water (for dilution): 16 oz (2 cups)

Garnish: Lime wheel or grapefruit peel (optional)

Final Volume: 256 oz (2 gallons)

Note: This recipe is less sweet than a traditional daiquiri. If desired, a small amount of simple syrup can be added to adjust the sweetness.
